How does a lead-based Paint Inspection differ from lead-based paint Risk Assessment?

According to EPA and HUD guidelines, a lead-based paint inspection is designed to sample and analyze the lead content of every painted surface in a building or home. TORF Environmental Management believes that this is especially helpful prior to renovation or demolition, or for owners with multiple properties or units.

A lead-based paint risk assessment is designed to identify the potential and amount of lead exposure from painted surfaces. TORF Environmental Management believes that this is especially useful individuals and families to answer the question—How safe is this building/house/unit with respect to lead exposure, even if lead-based paint is present?
